Effect.
The provisions of the Qanun-e-Shahadat, 1984 were not applicable in the proceedings before the Family Court, considering Section 17 of the West Pakistan Family Courts Act, 1964. The legislature intended to simplify the procedure, acknowledging that in cases related to dower, the preparation of lists and the retention of receipts were rare, as families made arrangements for their daughter's marriage with hopes for a happily married life.
